About Me
My name is Sean Grady, and I am a 39 year old currently living in Charlotte, NC. I grew up in Beachwood, Ohio, went to the University of Notre Dame for both my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Accounting, and then spent about 15 years in Chicago and its suburbs. My wife had a great career opportunity, so we moved down to Charlotte in late 2022. We have loved it here so far.
As a professional, my biggest asset is my ability to learn quickly. This has allowed me to work on a wide range of financial and tax accounting issues througout my career, but also to specialize as needed. For example, I have served as a subject matter expert in areas like Inventory Tax Accounting at multiple firms during my career.
In addition to learning quickly, I also have a drive to constantly be learning and trying new things. During the peak of the COVID lockdowns, I decided to make the most of my time and went back to get a computer science degree through Oregon State's Post-baccalaureate program. I had always felt very comfortable working with technology, but it was a big challenge to manage work and school. However, it was also incredibly rewarding to develop new skill sets and problem solving tools.
I also view my ability set and achieve goals as a strength. I have the upmost confidence in my potential to achieve anything I put my mind to, and have set high goals accordingly. I've gotten as far as I have because of my willingness to work hard and by holding myself to extremely high standards in order to achieve those goals.
Personally, I am a very big sports fan. I grew up playing hockey, and in school I ran cross country, wrestled, and played lacrosse. But my playing days are behind me now, and I am more of an observer of sports than participant. I follow college football very closely (Go Irish!) and my friend and I are frequent attendees at the College Wrestling National Championship Tournament. But I do try to stay active, and my wife and I love taking our dog Storm on hiking trips all over the state.
